LA FINCA

El Puente

In 2018, El Puente was born, an initiative with a social purpose that supports small coffee growers in Colombia in the production of specialty coffee. Its mission is to overcome three key challenges: the lack of post-harvest infrastructure, the scarcity of financial resources and the risk involved in innovating in processing methods that are increasingly in demand by the industry.

This project directly impacts 240 producing families, assuming the risks of processing and ensuring fairer trade. The coffee we offer has been carefully washed and processed at source by our allied producers, who receive an additional payment for the quality of their harvest, along with advice to improve future productions.

When you choose this coffee, you not only enjoy an exceptional taste, but you also become part of a movement that drives sustainable development in the world of coffee.

LA REGIÓN

Huila

Located in southern Colombia, the department of Huila is a land of contrasts where the Central and Eastern Andes mountain ranges meet. Its capital, Neiva, is a hot and arid city, very different from the fertile coffee-growing regions further south around Pitalito, the epicenter of specialty coffee in the region.

Farms in Huila are mostly small family-owned farms, where coffee growers have worked tirelessly over the past decade to perfect each stage of the process: from selective manual harvesting to meticulous processing and precise classification. These efforts have positioned Huila coffee as a benchmark of quality and unique character.

The Departmental Committee of Coffee Growers of Huila, in collaboration with the National Federation of Coffee Growers, has invested in the training of producers, covering everything from fertilization to advanced roasting techniques. This combination of knowledge, passion and commitment has shaped a coffee culture where excellence is the norm.

But Huila is not only synonymous with coffee. Its cultural and historical wealth dates back to pre-Columbian civilizations, being home to the San Agustín Archaeological Park, where majestic stone sculptures reveal the mysteries of an ancient past.

When you enjoy a coffee from Huila, you taste more than a drink: you discover a history, a legacy and the result of generations dedicated to perfection in each bean.
